Simon leads the data team at Dixon Carphone’s in house mobile network - iD Mobile and is accountable for creating the data capabilities to support the continued growth of iD Mobile, ensuring data is at the heart of decision making. He recently completed the deployment of a multi cloud data platform to support reporting and visualisation, data engineering, AI and Machine Learning which have underpinned iD Mobile’s 2019 digital transformation.

Under the umbrella of Dixons Carphone, iD Mobile has flourished and now has more than 1 million customers after just 3 years, with a  core proposition focusing around flexibility and control of data. iD Mobile has set trends in the MVNO market, introducing a number of firsts – the first of which being to provide free data rollover in the UK in 2016. Another first for a UK MVNO was the introduction of the first ever data back-up pot, otherwise known as data cushion. In 2017, iD Mobile set out to give customers peace of mind with an additional 10GB of 4G emergency data. Continuing to innovate in the MVNO market, in January last year the company became the first UK MVNO to launch Wi-Fi calling.

Prior to joining Dixons Carphone, Simon worked as Head of Information Management at Three owning the enterprise data management strategy, chairing the Three data governance forum and building an agile devops function to support the delivery of enterprise data platforms and products. He has managed profit generating data teams in the gaming sector, delivering insights to more than half of the UK betting industry; and in the property sector as a revenue manager, where he was responsible for increasing Telco and IT revenue by 30% through the implementation of a data-driven sales strategies and initiatives.
