Bernd Grohmann (born 1965) is Executive Vice President (Vorstand) and CTO at eQ-3 AG, where he is responsible for the OEM business for the company. According to renowned industry analyst Berg Insight, eQ-3 is the European Smart Home market leader based on the installed base of whole home solutions. With over 20 years of experience in technology and high tech business management and over 10 years in home control, Grohmann is a profound expert of the Smart Home and IoT (Internet-of-Things) market. Previously, he has held different senior management positions in sales and marketing and worked as CTO in high-tech companies in Germany, the USA, Denmark, and Singapore.

Before joining eQ-3 AG, Grohmann was Vice President Product Marketing at Zensys, the US/Danish maker of Z-Wave, where he was responsible for building the Z-Wave alliance. At Danish industry group Danfoss A/S, he was leading the Communication Technology Center at Danfoss A/S, a think tank supporting all 26 business divisions. In addition, he greatly contributed to the standardization work, e.g. within the working group developing the IEEE802.15.4 standard, as Working Group Chair in the ZigBee alliance and as one of the initiators of the 6LoWPAN initiative of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). 

As Senior Manager at Andersen Consulting’s telecommunication and high tech practice, Grohmann was engagement manager in projects related to technology strategy, eCommerce, CRM and billing for leading telecommunication companies. He was the founder and General Manager of NetCS GmbH, the first company to offer TCP/IP routing over ISDN. Later, he was responsible for the sale of the company and post-merger integration with NASDAQ listed Isocor Corporation.
